CSA worked with New York Junior Tennis & Learning (NYJTL) to launch a new website for The Cary Leeds Center. With a vision to serve the youth of New York City with a world-class facility, NYJTL is building the Center to reach young people and families from underserved neighborhoods with enriching opportunities to benefit from educational and tennis instruction. Constructed in partnership with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, the Center will house an educational facility and clubhouse where coaches and tutors will provide free year-round instruction and play. The Center will serve more than 30,000 families and children in and around Crotona Park, one of the poorest Congressional districts in the United States. The state-of-the-art facility has already won numerous design awards and is scheduled to be completed in spring of 2015.
The new website will help NYJTL reach its fundraising goal of 26.5 million. NYJTL was founded more than 2 decades ago by Arthur Ashe, and has served the youth of New York City with educational and tennis programs for more than 20 years. Arthur Ashe once said: “Through tennis, lives can be changed, and spirits reclaimed.”
“Every dollar given to the Cary Leeds Center opens doors to the future for the children of New York City,” said Mayor David Dinkins. Mayor Dinkins, as well as a number of other dignitaries, were present for the Center’s groundbreaking earlier this year.
CSA designed the Center’s website with a content management system allowing NYJTL staff to make frequent updates, including adding photos to a gallery which shows progress on construction.
The project was especially meaningful to CSA owner, Chrys Sbily, as she had the opportunity to meet Arthur Ashe many years ago. “He was incredibly passionate about giving back and working with young people,” she recalled. “I was honored to have had a small part in this meaningful project.”
