Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery Reopens: CSA Studio Highlights Celebration in Magazine Design

Nov 13, 2015

After many months of construction and renovation, the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery has reopened. The inaugural exhibit, Wonder, is actually nine separate exhibits under one roof.

According to Nicholas Bell, who organized the exhibit, ” The experience of wonder is deeply intertwined with how we experience art.” For the exhibit, nine different artists each selected a gallery in the Renwick in which to create a site-specific installation. The artists and their works are featured in the Fall, 2015 issue of The JRA Quarterly, published by the James Renwick Alliance. The Alliance supports the nation’s showcase of contemporary American craft, the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Renwick Gallery.

CSA Studio designs the quarterly magazine of The James Renwick Alliance. “My team and I are honored to be a small part of this event, and this important showcase of the creative vision of artists who work in clay, fiber, glass, metal and wood. With each issue, we continue to be inspired by their dedication to their craft,” said studio owner Chrys Sbily.
